We've looked at the best teams in the state overall, but who are the teams to watch over the next three to four years? We typically see teams like Vestavia and Scottsboro on the podium, but teams like Hewitt Trussville and Helena are reloading and looking to make some waves in a year or two.

Each year distance runners from all over the state make a pilgramage to their favorite distance running camps. Packing a few pairs of shoes, snacks, their lucky socks, a water bottle, and random stuffed animals, these athletes eagerly wait all summer for this week. We chronicle their trip with their own pictures.
I went back and looked and I couldnt find where three girls had ever gone under 5 minutes in the state meet. In fact the last time our state had three girls go under 5 minutes in a season was 2007. We all thought it would happen during the Indoor State Meet. Instead we had to wait until Gulf Shores.
Veronica Lyle has has dropped 70 seconds off her 2012 best time. The Hewitt-Trussville senior is currently the 6A #1 and AL #2 runner according to the AlabamaRunners/MileSplit database.
