More than 40 teams and 1,000 athletes are slated to compete Friday at the Hewitt-Trussville Invitational. With six state leaders entered, the competition will be strong across the board. One of the most intriguing races will be the girls 800 which pits the states top ranked 3200m runner in Homewood's Emma Brooke Levering against the states top ranked 1600m Emelia White of Mountain Brook. Not to be overshadowed, the boys pole vault features the top three ranked athletes in the state in Shaw Helfrich, Norman Settles and Omari Bryant while the girls pole vault features state leader Annie Kerr.
