Hillcrest junior Markus Manson came off one of the best football seasons of any player in the state this fall to win the MVP award for
Class 6A at the AHSAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in February. At the meet, he won the 55m dash and the long jump while also
scoring points for Hillcrest in the 4x200m relay and high jump.
So far this outdoor season, Manson's clocked the second-fastest 100m time in Class 6A, the seventh-best 200m, and his long jump mark
of 23' 5.25" from the General Relays has stood as the best jump in the state for more than a month. With the potential to win or score in
any event he'll try, Manson is a major reason the Patriots look to be major factor in the 6A team standings at the state meet in just a
few weeks.
