*The SATURDAY VARSITY meet is now full*

The Huntsville Big Cat Invitational will again be held over two days, Friday and Saturday in 2022! Friday will have both the North Alabama JV Gold, 7-9th grade, and all grades (which will use HS implements), Championship races & open races for athletes outside of your top three and/or those who will not be competing at the section level along with those who did not meet the Gold Standards.

I will not limit the amount of athletes a team can enter on Friday in every individual event but some events could be limited, so with this you should expect that in the distance races heats will be large on Friday. All Friday field events will have 4 attempts, in lieu of finals for the sake of time.

UPDATE* The heats on Friday will run as such: Open to JV Gold ALL GRADES, to JV Gold 7-9th, and all will be slow to fast & we will run all girls, then all boys.

The minimums/opening heights for Friday will be the JH Gold Standard. Everyone will have their first attempt marked, and then they'll have to meet the minimum.

*Individual athletes should NOT compete on both days. This is a change from last year. The meet has grown, so it is not feasible this year.*

Saturday is meant to be for your Varsity and will be limited to three per individual event, and one relay team. Saturday is meant to be athletes who will be competing at sectionals looking to move on to state - i.e. a "pre-sectionals." Please be cognizant of this while you do your entries. The events in registration titled varsity are for your Saturday competitors. Heats/flights will run from slowest/lowest to fastest/highest on Saturday.

Team awards on Friday will be based solely on the Gold Championship heats/flights, while Saturday will be based on the performances that day only. Medals to the top three per event with podium photo ops will occur for all top three finishers per division on both days.

For the 4x800, we will only run 1 heat per gender to be able to stick to our schedule. We will use a waterfall start if necessary with a large heat size.

We are trying to create a Championship atmosphere for athletes on both days, so if you have any suggestions for unique ways to add to this environment please let me know.

Awards: We will provide the top three teams per Gold circuit level awards (7-9th and All-Grades), and the top three teams on Saturday will receive awards. Each level will be scored independently.

*All teams will be able to enter one 4x100 and 4x400 relay for both levels.*

**Do not be confused by the JV ALL GRADES column. This column does not pertain to the Jr. High (7-9th) circuit of meets. There will be a JV ALL GRADES Championship Division as well as JV 7-9th. Your 10-12th grade athletes can qualify for this division by meeting these standards during the season.**
