2/25 VA High School Boys Indoor Team Depth Rankings Jennifer Malcolm Feb 25, 2007

With all of the elite performances entered from the regional meets this past weekend, here are the final Virginia high school b indoor team depth rankings. These rankings were calculated by scoring the elite performances rankings list 20-deep. 1st place received 20 points for their team, on down to 1 point for 20th place. Eastern Region champs Western Branch are out in first with 189 points, while VISAA state champs Fork Union are #2 with 169 points. Central Region champs Manchester is at #3 with 141 points, while Holston-led Robert E. Lee has 101 points to hold down the #4 spot. Northern Region champs Westfield round the top 5 with 95 points.

Although we typically associate osteoporosis with little old ladies, decreased bone mineral density (BMD) is becoming more and more common amongst the young running population. In fact, one article studying BMD in middle-aged runners found that 25-year-old amenorrheic runners (runners not having any menstrual cycles) had the bone mineral density of a 50-year-old woman. Thus, early onset of osteoporotic BMD has been strongly associated with menstrual irregularities.
