Alabama high school track and field athletes posted several personal records during the week of March 23.
Elijah Smith (Horseshoe Bend) threw 169-5 in the discus at the NIKE Rocket City Showcase, improving from his previous best of 162-5. The mark set a school record and ranks fifth in Alabama. Smith placed second among 81 competitors.
Nic Fallin (Fairview) jumped 22-9 in the long jump at the NIKE Rocket City Showcase, improving from 22-3. The performance set a school record and ranks 29th in the state. Fallin also cleared 13-6 in the pole vault, improving from 13-0.
Briece Baker (Charles Henderson) ran 21.86 in the 200 meters at Troy Invitational #2, improving from 22.22. The time set a school record and ranks first among Alabama freshmen. Baker also ran 10.95 in the 100 meters, improving from 10.98.
Kymani Clary (Carver Montgomery) ran 49.88 in the 400 meters at Troy Invitational #2, improving from 50.39. The time set a school record and ranks 69th in Alabama. Clary also posted personal bests in the long jump (22-5) and triple jump (46-7).
Alec Spann (Abbeville) ran 15.16 in the 110 meter hurdles at Troy Invitational #2, improving from 15.48. The time set a school record and ranks 45th in the state. Spann won the event among 16 competitors.
Bo Davis (Demopolis) threw 47-11 in the shot put at King of The West, improving from his previous best of 44-5 set in February 2026. Davis also set personal records in the discus (142-0) and javelin (169-6). He won the shot put among 65 competitors.
David Murphy (Holt) threw 45-3 in the shot put at King of The West, improving from 43-4. The mark set a school record and ranks 123rd in Alabama. Murphy also improved in the discus from 85-0 to 87-4.
Mac Peters (Orange Beach) threw 138-4 in the discus at the Inaugural Orange Beach Invitational, improving from 134-1. The throw set a school record and ranks 79th in the state. Peters placed second among 12 competitors.
Zy'Mar Butler (Gadsden City) ran 10.79 in the 100 meters at Gadsden City Meet #5, improving from 10.91. Butler also ran 22.34 in the 200 meters, improving from 23.01. He won the 100 meters among 19 competitors.
Max Ponter (Decatur) ran 10.79 in the 100 meters at the NIKE Rocket City Showcase, improving from 10.89. The time ranks 46th in Alabama and Ponter placed fourth among 243 competitors.
Xavier Endicott (Oxford) threw 150-8 in the discus at the NIKE Rocket City Showcase, improving from 117-5. The mark ranks 30th in Alabama and fifth among state juniors. Endicott placed fifth among 81 competitors.
Bennett Roe (UMS-Wright) threw 151-10 in the discus at the Spartan Invite, improving from 138-9. The throw ranks 27th in Alabama and Roe won the event among 14 competitors.
James Tatum (Huntsville) ran 16.22 in the 110 meter hurdles at the NIKE Rocket City Showcase, improving from 17.07. The freshman also improved in the 300 meter hurdles from 50.10 to 47.01. He placed ninth in the 110 hurdles among 21 competitors.
Kaleb Earl (Lee-Huntsville) ran 15.14 in the 110 meter hurdles at the NIKE Rocket City Showcase, improving from 15.82. The mark ranks 42nd in Alabama and Earl placed fourth among 21 competitors.
Akeem Gholston (Columbia) cleared 6-4 in the high jump at the NIKE Rocket City Showcase, improving from 6-2. Gholston also ran 23.97 in the 200 meters, improving from 24.07. He placed fourth in the high jump among 23 competitors.
Gray Carson (Auburn) ran 48.78 in the 400 meters at Friday Night Lights at Starr's Mill, improving from 49.64. The time ranks 26th in Alabama and Carson placed second among 41 competitors.
Landon Stewart (Mobile Christian) threw 45-10.75 in the shot put at Saraland JV/Middle School Meet 4, improving from 41-9. Stewart won the event among 28 competitors and the mark ranks 103rd in the state.
Quinn Nunnelly (Ohatchee) threw 44-9 in the shot put at Gadsden City Meet #5, improving from 42-11. Nunnelly also improved in the discus from 128-7 to 135-1. He placed second in the shot put among 15 competitors.
Cooper Morrison (Guntersville) ran 22.35 in the 200 meters at the NIKE Rocket City Showcase, improving from 23.20. The sophomore's time ranks 113th in Alabama and seventh among state sophomores. Morrison placed 13th among 233 competitors.
Austin Stark (Huntsville) ran 4:59.49 in the mile at the NIKE Rocket City Showcase, improving from 5:15.69. The freshman's time ranks 100th in Alabama and 10th among state freshmen.
