Thus far in her career, UMS-Wright's Edra Finley has won seventeen individual state titles, set two state records, and led the Bulldogs to an outdoor state championship in each of her three years at the varsity level. Her individual titles have come in the 400m, long jump, 100m hurdles, triple jump, 300m hurdles, high jump, and 4x400m relay. With such phenomenal versatility, it's not surprising that she's also won the state heptathlon title.

In just her freshman outdoor season in 2000, Finley led UMS-Wright to the 3A team title with five individual state championships. Since that fast start, she has tallied eleven more gold AHSAA shields in track & field, been named to the AHSAA All-State and All-Tournament teams in volleyball, earned the 2003 1A-4A MVP award at her first indoor track meet ever, and was recently appointed to represent the state of Alabama in the Alabama-Mississippi All Star Volleyball Classic.

This spring will mark the end of Edra Finley's decorated high school track & field career--a career that began with two All-State finishes as a seventh grader and may climax with another team championship, five more golds, and even state records in each event she contests.
