Big Names and Top Times expected at Ice Breaker Invitational

Coming up this weekend we have the Ice Breaker Invitational hosted by Smiths Station. The morning session will feature Ethan Edgeworth  of Cold Springs in his 2024 Indoor debut as he begins his final indoor campaign. On the girls side the morning session will be highlighted by Lucy Benton of Mountain Brook currently entered in the 400 and 1600. She showcased her talent in early December dropping an impressive 2:13.43 800m at the Holiday Invitational which is currently Alabama #1 and Nation #5.

The afternoon session will be highlighted by the speedy Jordan Urrutia of Bob Jones High School with a season best of 48.17 in the 400m which is Alabama #1 and Nation #2.  Addtionally the boys 60m afternoon session will also highlight two of the best short sprinters in DeMarion Gardner of Hoover and Jordan Urrutia. Gardner boasts a mark of 6.90 in the 60m, which is good for Alabama #1 and Nation #13, while Urrutia has also cracked the top 15 nationally in the 60m with a time of 6.91 good for #14 spot nationally.
