Anthony Eager went 3/3 at the Saraland Invitational on Saturday winning the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and the triple jump. The senior looks to improve before heading to the University of South Alabama to continue track and play football.
How satisfied were you with your performances this weekend?
I was a little satisfied. I could improve on my hurdle time and get it down next meet.
What could you do differently to improve? Specifically?
Well the conditions have been horribly windy and cold but I have been working on technique a lot lately.
What are some final goals you're chasing over the last few months of your track career?
To get 50 ft in triple jump. 13.9 or lower in 110m hurdles. 37 or lower in 300m hurdles. And win the 100m dash at State.
What do you think it's gonna take to win the 100m at State?
To run a 10.6 or 10.5.
What got you into running? I know you're a football guy.
I mean I always have been a little faster than others and it was really just a joke freshman year and I was using it to condition and get faster for football. But around my sophomore year it started getting serious then everything clicked my junior year.
What position are you in football?
Wide receiver.
What's your best career stat line?
My senior year: 1078 yards, 15 touchdowns, 56 receptions.
Will you run track at south Alabama while doing football?
Yes.
What is your favorite track memory so far?
Jumping 48.6 in triple at the Goula Invitational on February 25.
What would you tell freshman Anthony, if you could do it all over again?
Trust the process. Everything will fall in order and train hard.
What do you plan to major in at USA?
Marine science.
If you could get drafted by one NFL team, who would it be?
Buffalo Bills.

Play with diggs. Josh [Allen] is falling off.
If you could catch balls with any quarterback, who would it be?
Tom Brady and Pat Mahomes.

What's your go-to order at Foosacky's?
Bigger Box. No cole slaw. Extra Sauce. Dip tenders in buffalo. With ranch and a large lemonade.
What's the best part of your McGill track team?
The thing you'll miss most? The rides to birmingham for Indoor track.
What do you want your legacy to be at McGill?
To be one of the greatest athletes to come out of McGill.
