Note: Athletes who have been nominated in the past two weeks are not eligible. Previous winners are excluded for the rest of the season.
This Week's Nominees:
Erihana Johnson, James Clemens (Alabama): Won the 100m in 11.51 and placed second in the 200m at 23.69 at the AHSAA 6A Section 4 meet in Muscle Shoals. Her 100m victory came against a field of 65 runners, beating teammate London Hall who ranks third in the state.
London Hall, James Clemens (Alabama): Turned in a stellar triple at the AHSAA 6A Section 4 meet in Muscle Shoals, clocking 23.55 to win the 200m over teammate Erihana Johnson. Also ran 11.78 for second in the 100m and posted 56.72 in the 400m for second place, earning her the #3 state ranking in that event.
Kendall Brown, Baker (Alabama): Swept the horizontal jumps at the AHSAA 7A Section 1 meet in Saraland with marks of 19-5 in the long jump and 39-6.25 in the triple jump. Both victories came as the top performer of the week in their respective events across the state.
Cara Huff, Indian Springs (Alabama): Put up the week's best marks in both throwing events at the AHSAA 4A Section 2 meet at Northridge. Her 43-6 shot put and 143-10 discus both earned victories and led all Alabama competitors for the week.
Katherine Lee, Auburn HS (Alabama): Posted strong marks across three events at the AHSAA 7A Section 2 meet in Smiths Station. Ran 14.11 for second in the 100m hurdles, then swept both horizontal jumps with an 18-6.5 long jump and 37-2 triple jump.
