10 Stars from the Last Chance Invitational

Kennedi Sanders, Madison Ridgeland Academy

Kennedi started off the second session running a quick 7.65 in the 60m. But the 60m was only the beginning. Sanders came back in the 400m and ran a weekend best 55.65. Her focus for the day was solely on the 400m. Her coach really wanted the 60m to be a good warmup and turn her speed on. When it came time for the 400m, she was shaking from being so nervous. Everyone who runs the 400m knows it's going to hurt and Sanders' coach said, "whether you run a 1:00 or a 55, it's still going to hurt the same, so might as well just do your best." Her best that day was good for US #10 for High School Girls. Kennedi has one goal for the season and it's the same for every season: Run for God, Mississippi and continue to put her best effort onto the track.
