Jayla Kirkland Takes 3rd place in 100m at the 2015 IAAF World Youth Meet

Kirkland continues to prove that sprinters can in fact come from Alabama. The Woodlawn sophomore took 3rd place in the 100m dash at the 2015 IAAF World Youth Meet.

Kirkland advanced out of prelims winning her heat in 11.54 by a hundredth ahead of Hannah Brier of Great Britain. Once in the finals, Kirkland took 3rd (11.41) overall behind Candace Hill (USA) and Khalifa St. Fort (USA). Hill won the event overall with a time of 11.08.

Kirkland is in a solid #1 as the all-time best female sprinter from the state of Alabama. Her 11.33 at NBON has her in the US#7 spot this year.
