Sarah Sanford has become a big point scorer for Hoover High School. So big in fact she recently was the second highest overall point scorer at the Last Chance Invitational (21 points).
Sanford has 12 podium finishes at the 6A Outdoor and Indoor State Championships in the last 3 years was the only 6A athlete last year (boys or girls) with 4 podium finishes at the Outdoor State Meet (2nd-100 Hurdles, 2nd-400m, 3rd-300 Hurdles, 1st 4x100 Relay).

Hobbies: I like to spend time with my family, being outdoors, hanging out with my friends.
What is an average workout like for you? Having Coach Hind and Coach Russ they both give varied work outs for my different events.
Have you changed anything training wise between this year and last year? So far this year I have been putting more focus on the hurdles.
Goals for this year? Continue getting faster in the hurdles, break 57 in the 400, and a team State Championship.
What goes through your mind before the gun goes off? Try to get out so I can be ready for the first hurdle and for the 400 get in a good racing spot.
Do you have any superstitions when it comes to competing? Wearing crew socks and eating at Pablo's before state.
Do you have any post-high school plans? I will be running track at Samford University in the Fall.
Competition Spikes: I have several different pairs my sprinting spikes are Nike and my middle distance spikes are New Balance.
Favorite Television Show: The Bachelor!
What are 3 things in your track bag you can’t live without? My Chapstick, my Yosemite water bottle, and an extra uniform!
What song do you always listen to before a race? I normally don't listen to anything, but if I get a chance its Taylor Swift.
Do you have a hidden talent you would like to tell us all about? I can do lots of flips.
Do you play / have you played and other sports? Ive been a cheerleader for many years and was captain of the Varsity squad at Hoover this year.
Who is your favorite athlete? Lolo Jones I like the example she shows on and off the track and gotta like a hurdler.
Favorite (appropriate) joke? My friend Presley and I can turn anything into a track reference. "I'll pick ya up in sub two"
Best advice you've been given from a coach? A poem Coach Hind had us learn called Don't Quit, I've used it as a guide through out the years.
