*Sanctions: The Jesse Owens Classic is sanctioned through AHSAA for Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee. The JOC is also sanctioned for KY, AL, GA, MS,TN through the NFHS as well. Due to bordering states participation in the JOC, sanctioning will not appear on C2C or AHSAA. Therefore, if you should need verification that the event has been sanctioned through AHSAA, contact Brandon Dean @ AHSAA @ 334.263.6994.

*The following info directions to determine the correct division that your team should compete in:
Gold Division (Varsity Div): This division is for the elite runners of any school classification. Limited to 7 runners per this division. This is the Championship Division.
Silver Division (Varsity Div): This division is for schools that occupy 569 students or more in grades 10-12, as in the case for Alabama schools: 6A-7A. Limited to 7 runners per this division.
Bronze Division (Varsity Div): This division is for schools that occupy 566 students or less in grades 10-12, as in the case for Alabama schools: 4A-5A. Unlimited runners per this division.
Green Division (Varsity Div): This division if for schools that occupy 282 students or less in grades 10-12, as in the case for Alabama schools: 1A-3A. Unlimited runners per this division.
Red Division (Varsity Div): This division is for 6A-7A schools (Alabama or 569 students or more in grades 10-12) that have run their team's top 7 runners in the Gold Division and/or the Silver Division. This race is for your "B"/JV team, not JH. You may register runners in both the Gold and Silver Divisions and register your remaining runners in the Red Division.
JH Division: This division is for grades 7-9.
JV Division and the "B"Team/Red are the same division.
$75 per division, not to exceed $400 per school
$30 per Red Division
*******$20 per individual, not to exceed $75 per division in the Gold, Silver, Bronze, Green and JH Divisions. The "B"/Red Division is $20 per runner but not to exceed $30 per "B"/Red Division.
Awards:
Top 30 finishers in each age group will receive a tee shirts.
Top 10 finishers in each age group will receive medals.
Top 3 teams in each division will receive trophies.
Overall finisher in each division will receive an individual trophy.
Failure to enter the correct division will result in disqualification.

*You may set team tents up on Friday.
*Only schools that are members of their respected state associations are eligible to participate in the JOC! No unattached runners or club teams are eligible.
Alabama's best team receives a trophy!
***Medical: Stacy Rose is the director of safety/medical operations. Medical attention will be available at the medical station located beside the finish area. Please be advised that race day conditions can be hot, humid, and physically challenging. Coaches are responsible for the well-being of each athlete and should consider each athletes fitness before entry in the meet.
***Ambulance service is provided by Greg's Ambulance Service, Moulton, AL.
***Parking: There will be a $5 parking fee for all transportation vehicles. Team buses/vehicles park free. All parking proceeds go to the Oakville Indian Mounds Park and Educational Center.
***Security: Security from the Lawrence Co Sheriff's Dept will be hired during the hours of the event, no overnight. Security will be available for team tents that are set up for overnight.
***Facilities: No dressing rooms are available. Portable toilets will be provided in addition to limited restrooms @ the museum and beside the amphitheater.
*No pets or bicycles are allowed in the park per AHSAA!
*$5 donation asked for parking.
*The race course is lodged in a charming historical setting. With wooded trails, a few short hills, packed gravel, a wide open start with thousands of supporters cheering a runner on, the participant is sure to have a fantastic experience and perhaps set a new PR! The race course is ideal for spectating! Hope you will participate in the JOC and share the "Rare Moment" with thousands!
