Off to Mobile! Apr 01, 2006

This weekend at the Mobile Challenge of Champions, several top flight athletes from Georgia will look to make their mark. Evander Wells, of Stone Mountain, comes off a monster Dekalb Co. Championship performance that saw him go 10.49 and sub 21 in the 200. Also competeing will be Brittany Hall, of Meadowcreek, in her specialty the 800m along wtih Jackie Drouin, of Collins Hill, in the 3200. Emily Reese, of Chamblee, will be competing in the 1600m. Georgia Stars Shine at Mobile!! Apr 01, 2006

Georgia\'s top athletes performed well at the Mobile Challenge of Champions Invitational division on Saturday. It started with Nicole Okolo in the triple jump. The Collins Hill star covered 39\' 0.75\" to win top honors and also earn top marks in the state this season. Her teammates in the 4x800 did not disappoint either as they covered 8 laps of the oval in a state leading time of 9:31.49 to also take home gold. Jordan Scott of Oconee Co. continued his spectacular season as he won gold in the pole vault with a mark of 16\'6\". Donte Nall, of Chapel Hill, cleared an impressive 7\'00\" in the high jump to set a meet record. Collins Hill\'s girls continued the streak of golds with a win in the 4x100 with a time of 48.44.

Peoples finishes 2nd in Vault with new GA #2 all time mark of 12\' Apr 02, 2006

Mauri Peoples had a tremendous showing at the Mobile Meet of Champions. The young vaulter, from Carrollton, hit an all time mark of 12\' in the vault to finish just ahead of Analise Peters, of GACS for 2nd place. Peoples moves up to #2 on the all time list behind Nicci Faires of Roswell.

Throwers lead way at Challenge of Champions Apr 03, 2006

Opelika\'s Zach Clayton and Leeds\' Tiphanie Baker both doubled in the shot put and discus events as throwers led Alabama\'s efforts at the annual Challenge of Champions in Mobile.

Graves competes in Mobile Apr 02, 2006

Returning to his former homestate of Alabama, Abingdon sophomore Griff Graves finished second in the two mile run at the Mobile Meet of Champions with a time of 9:25.93 as the lone Virginian athlete competing in the meet. Graves time converts to a personal best 3200 meter time of 9:22.53, which ranks him first in the state currently in the event. Graves will be looking to add to his state titles in cross country and 1600 meter run indoors this June at the Group AA State Meet.
