Life of a Runner: Cameron Deloach

I was finally able to get out and do a really good long run. It seemed as if it had been a while since I was able to just go out and run with a mind clear of PRs, racing stats and goals in mind. It was just plain, simple running without really a purpose or goal in mind. It was just a calming, relaxing run that I ran just for pure joy. I think that sometimes as competitive runners we forget that running can be simple. It was strange to run without the team and to run on my own. I think having runs like that are two of the positives of running post season. The team did the best they could on Thursday at sectionals and even though we did not qualify as a team for state, I'm proud to be a Thompson Warrior. I would like to congratulate  the three teams that did go, as they are strong competitors and great teams. I would also like to congratulate  teammates Michael Johnson and Alex Coleman for qualifying as individuals on the boys' side for the state meet.

As for the future, I'm really looking forward to possibly going to cheer on the boys' at state, shifting gears toward the indoor season and the team banquet. I have been truly blessed with the opportunity to write for Alabama Runners throughout the season and I hope that those reading have enjoyed reading over the past few months. As for those of you who are not done with your season, I wish you the best of luck at state!!!
