Life of a Runner: Cameron Deloach

I love it when the team gets to travel. Going to away meets are just always so exciting for all of us because it helps us bond as a team and it makes the race not as nerve racking because you don't know most of the teams. The Gulf Coast Stampede was definitely one of those kind of meets although there were many Alabama schools there that I recognized. My team ran at this race two years ago and the course felt as if it ran different from two years ago as there was much more sand added into the mix. Although running in sand  is not the easiest task in the world, I actually found myself liking the course and I actually liked the challenge that the sand presented.

I also had fun outside of running on the trip. The night before the race I had a lot of fun debating the best kinds of chocolate milk with my teammates, trying on ridiculous heels at the shopping mall we went to for dinner and taking an ice bath. And then on Saturday after the race our team traveled down to the beach for some time to relax before heading back home. It was so much fun because we played a girls vs. boys game of football.

As for the future, our team has no upcoming meets until Jesse Owens, which is my favorite meet of all every single year. I wish all of you more good luck in your upcoming meets. May the PRs be ever in your favor!
