Davis sweeps sprints at USM Hattiesburg, MS » Williamson senior Arthur Davis dominated the sprint events at the University of Southern Mississippi Invitational on Friday. With times of 11.00, 21.43, 47.54, and 3:24.94, Davis picked up wins in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4x400m relay. The 200m time is a PR, moving him into 8th place on the AR All-Time Lists. and Auburn High School also represented Alabama well. Auburn sprinter Stacey Adewakun
took second to nationally-ranked Janice Davis of Tupelo in the 100m and 200m dashes, recording early season marks of 11.97 and
24.95. Central-Tuscaloosa junior Tara Colvin took third behind Adewakun in 200m and won the 400m in 57.43. Also picking up wins for Central: Brandon York (1600m, 3200m), Marqueno Davis (800m), Brandon Hamilton (shot put), Ladedria Taylor (300m hurdles), Erin Harris (long jump), and Tami Lawson (discus). For Auburn: Tara Enebak (1600m, 3200m). In Saturday's collegiate meet, former Central high jumper Cedric Norman cleared 7' 02.25" to win the high jump for the home-standing Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
