Hoover senior Robert Bedsole led his Bucs teammates to a team victory over the Tennessee and Missouri state champion teams at the Memphis Twilight Invitational on Saturday.
Bedsole's individual victory in 14:40 on the flat three-mile course helped Hoover edge 2002 Missouri state champions West Plains by a score of 42 to 45. Junior Jeremy Moujoodi clocked 15:15 for fourth place, Scott Novack placed 6th in 15:23, while Stephen Payne and Timothy Landry rounded out the Hoover scoring by placing 15th and 16th, both crossing the line in 15:54.
Hoover's average time was just 15:25. Memphis's own Houston High School, which won Tennessee's 2003 AAA cross country championship by 120 points, placed 3rd with 53 points.
