Last Chance Invitational: Match-ups to Watch (Boys)

Shotput

Daniel Herrod (Northridge) vs Ethan Womack (Winder-Barrow)

Herrod has had a fantastic season so far winning every indoor meet he has competed in. Womack comes over from Georgia with a matching outdoor PR. This one could be close ladies and gentlemen.

60m

Deante Tolbert (Auburn) vs Nathaniel Huggins (Opelika)

Huggins ran the first meet of the season and has led the event 6.89) since that day. The problem is he hasnt run again since then. Tolbert has won every meet except the first meet and has put up great ties in his own right - 6.91.

400m

Justin Brooks (Athens Christian) vs Trevian Jenkins (Hewitt-Trussville)

These two seniors have virtually identical times 48.9 vs 48.8. It appears Brooks has never run indoor before so the 200m track might require a learning curve for him.

1600m & 3200m

Ben Bryant (Opelika) vs Max Warner (Forsyth Central)

These two will face each other in both the 3200m and 1600m as the top two seeded individuals. Their times are close. The winner here might be everyone else if their legs don't recover by Saturday.

Pole Vault

Sean Collins (McGill) vs Anthony Del Vescovo (Saint Patrick)

These two vaulters are the top ranked in the southeast. Collins is ranked US 10 while Del Vescovo is US #11. They jump virtually the same height. I'll be watching this one.
