Scouting Report: St Bernard Boys

You return a top 5 with a team average of 17:50 this year.  How does the team look after summer practices so far?

Several of our guys have had productive summers. They all have been training, going to camps including the camps we do here at St. Bernard.  Since we are a boarding school as well as a day school,  we are spread out across different cities and states.  One of our guys lives in Colorado.  I am looking forward to seeing them all together for the first time August 11.  Several of our guys have had productive summers. Any new additions to the team or surprises we can expect?

We have a couple of 9th graders that have potential to  challenge for the team top five as the season progresses. 

 

What is your schedule this season and are you changing anything up?

Our schedule is mostly the same as previous years.   We take the first weekend off since we all don’t get to practice together until school starts.   Our first meet will be at Oakville ( Chickasaw Trails)  Other big meets for us are Kudzu Hills at Cold Springs, Jesse Owens Classic and the Oktoberfest Inv that we host.   A couple of different meets are on the schedule.  We are going to the St. Clair Inv on September 20  and Good Hope on Sept 13 since our sectional will be there.

 

What goals has your team established for this season?

 With 4 of our top 5 men  returning, we are anticipating improving on our state standing from last year.(6th)  Our goal is always to qualify for the state meet and improve on last year’s finish.
