Salute to Seniors: Cameron Womack, Fort Payne HS

What was your most memorable meet?
I liked the Gadsden kickoff meet because it's where I got my fastest time, but my most memorable would be state.

Where did you face your biggest competition?
Also at the state meet. I have had great competition in the past but it all came down to state.

Out of all of your high school accomplishments which stands out the most?
Well, this was my first year of hurdles ever, and I ended up winning silver.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?
I would have signed up for track sooner...

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
Well midway through the season I had shin splints and the fact that my grandfather had passed away maybe two weeks before state so I had a lot of support from my team and my coaches because they are also my family.

What will you miss the most?
All of my friends and coaches that have helped me through it all.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?
Always try your best no matter what happens. If you give it your all, win or lose, your always a winner because you know you went out on that track and gave it your all.

What are your post-highschool or college plans?
I'm hoping that I can get a scholarship to UAH or any other college honestly... I just want to run track and I honestly don't want to give up what I have, but if I can't find any colleges...then I guess I'll end up going to Northeast AL. ( which doesn't have any athletics)

Who would you like to say thank you to?
I want to thank all of my friends and other athletes that cheered me on through the years. I wanna thank my coaches ( Coach Chadwick, Coach Prater, Coach Sanford, Coach Ashley, and Coach Davis) for all the help and support they have given me. Without these people, I wouldn't be where I am today.
