Scouting Report: Enterprise Boys Return Top 7


The Enterprise Boys have come a long way in a short time.  This year they could possibly win their sectional overcoming Auburn and Smiths Station.  

1. How many years have you been coaching high school cross country (and at your current school)?
This is my second year both coaching and at Enterprise High School.

2. What do you attribute as the main reasons for the success of your program?
Hard work and dedication by both the athletes and parents.

3. What would be the best way to describe your style and philosophy of coaching and working with high school runners?
Being available for them, listening to their needs and goals; then providing them with the resources necessary to achieve those goals. 

4. What are your core beliefs in your training plan and workouts for your cross country squads?
We try to keep it simple, with evaluation and implementation on a consistent basis.

5. How many runners do you return from your top 7 from a year ago?
All seven 

6. Who is your projected top 7 heading into the cross country season?
Our juniors from last year are getting stronger and faster. We anticipate them to continue to grow into their senior year.

7. Who are your team captains or leaders and what stands out about them as examples for the rest of their teammates?
We have several strong individuals who encourage and motivate each other as well as the younger runners.

8. Who have you been most impressed or surprised with their improvement and/or fitness from their summer training?
We have had several returning athletes that have shown dedication and an impressive work ethic this summer. They have started this year with concise goals and a rigorous plan to achieve those goals 

9. Any impactful freshmen or transfers to join the team this season?
We have just started working with the younger runners and look forward to seeing what they bring to the team.

10. What are the top invitational meets that your team will be attending this season?
Chickasaw Trails, Oak Mountain, Jesse Owens, Smiths Station, Auburn and we are looking forward to hosting out first home meet, The Wildcat Classic, at Enterprise High School.

11. What will be the biggest obstacle or challenge facing your team this season?
Like with any team, staying motivated and injury free the entire season.

12. What will be the biggest reason why your team is successful this season?
Staying dedicated and working hard as a team to achieving our goals.

13. What is a favorite annual or common pre-season workout or run for your team?
This year we have had a challenging course on our campus and the runners have enjoyed its availability.

14. What is a favorite annual or common mid-season workout for your team?
In the past years the runners have really enjoyed hill repeats!

15. What is a favorite annual or common championship season or end-of-season workout for your team? Taper for State.

16. What are your top 3 goals for this year's squad?
Goal 1. Making this a fun and memorable year for our senior squad. 2. Growing and developing our younger runners for next years season. 3. Having both our Female and Male teams Qualify for State.
