6A will be tough this year. A number of sectional winners from last year could make it difficult for someone to sneak in a win this year.
Complete 6A Section 1 Rankings
Spanish Fort's Jack Morgan returns in section 1 as the top runner this year. He ran 17:11 at section for the win last year and went on to run 16:54 at state.
Complete 6A Section 2 Rankings
Opelika senior Kevin Lazenby finished 5th last year in section 2 but is the top returner this year. He went on to run 16:34 at the state meet which was good enough for an 8th place finish.
Complete 6A Section 3 Rankings
Homewood senior Andy Smith is the top returning boy IN...THE...STATE. Stands to reason he would be the top returner in Section 4. His best time last year was 15:42.
Complete 6A Section 4 Rankings
Walker HS Junior Thomas Mobley won Section 4 this year and then went on to take 31st in the state meet. During the outdoor state meet he took 11th in both the 1600m and 3200m.
Complete 6A Section 5 Rankings
Scottsboro Senior Micah DeMontgomery returns as the top guy in Section 5. A second place finish last year at section (16:21) and 7th place finish at state (16:33) help Micah as the top returner this year. DeMontgomery is also the #2 returner overall in 6A,
Complete 6A Section 6 Rankings
Florence senior James Ridgeway won section 6 this year and returns with the top time this year as well. Ridgeway ran 16:52 last year at section before running 17:30 at state for a 34th place finish. Thanks for sending in a photo of him.
