In Her Own Words: Alexa Cruz - State Recap & Look Ahead Alexa Cruz Nov 29, 2013

Hey Flrunners! It's been a while since my last blog, but it's just been such a crazy two weeks that I haven't had time to do anything. I hope everyone ended their season with some PR's and great finishes at the state meet. Great job to everyone who ran, whether for your team or as an individual!  Now, let's get started.

In Her Own Words: Alex Eaton - Finishing On A High Note Alex Eaton Nov 16, 2013

What's up Flrunners? I can't believe that the season is over already. I hope that everyone really enjoyed their seasons. I'm really sad that my high school cross country career has come to an end. States this year was my favorite race of my entire school and I'm so glad I could end my season on a good note.

In His Own Words: Nick Morken - Postseason Plans, Looking Ahead To Track Nick Morken Nov 13, 2013

Hello flrunners. Welcome back to the blog. I have gotten a lot of feedback saying they’ve enjoyed it so I will continue. Congratulations to all the runners who competed in the Cross Country Finals in Tallahassee this weekend. The 3A boys’ race started at 10a.m. on Saturday. I had woke up with a cough so I didn’t know how I’d feel.

In Her Own Words: Alexa Cruz - Grind Time Alexa Cruz Nov 08, 2013

Hey Flrunners! I hope everyone's been doing well and feeling good. Even though this isn't my last blog, I just want to thank Flrunners for giving me the opportunity to blog this season. It's been such a fun and exciting experience. But anyways, there's been so much going on in the running world with regionals, state meet predictions, and obviously the most anticipated meet of the year: states.

In Her Own Words: Alex Eaton - The "Triple Crown" & Team Bonding Alex Eaton Oct 31, 2013

This past Friday, my teammates and I ran districts at Taylor Lake Park. It's crazy that I will never race at this park again. It's one of the only legit cross country courses in Pinellas County and I have probably raced there like 20 times. I have so many memories here and I added one more great memory Friday morning.

In His Own Words: Brandon Marquez - Did You Miss Me? Brandon Marquez Oct 29, 2013

It's been a while since I have last wrote, but here we are with the state series having just started. It is almost hard to believe that the season is coming to a close already. It has surely been a great season for all the runners of Florida, and I bet everyone is excited to run these next couple weeks in order to reach the ultimate goal of participating in the state championship. A quick recap over the last few weeks has included Pre-States, the Metro East Conference Championship, and Districts.

In Her Own Words: Alexa Cruz - Postseason Meets and Antics Alexa Cruz Oct 28, 2013

Hey Flrunners!  Hope everyone has been doing great and running hard. There's been so many meets, with everyone running counties and districts. The weather has been getting a little cooler in the mornings and the nights. The excitement for regionals and states is building up. Everything about this time is just screaming cross country. Let me give you a little insight on how my county and district meets went!

In His Own Words: Nick Morken - Poised For Postseason Nick Morken Oct 25, 2013

To start this week off I would like to talk about something that will affect this year’s senior class… commitments. Congrats to all the recent commits like Emily Edwards, Connor Ferrentino, and Caroline Barlow (Roll Tide!). Before you ask I have no clue on where I would like to attend, but I would like any of the other runners who are interested in running for college to contact me via social media or at a meet.

In Her Own Words: Alex Eaton: Cross Country For A Cause Alex Eaton Oct 21, 2013

What's up Flrunners? Last Tuesday, Shorecrest had our Bay Conference Meet. It was kind of an odd day to have the meet, so only four teams showed up. We knew we would have yet another try at getting a perfect score. We felt pumped, and we were exited to try to get that 15 points!

In Her Own Words: Emily Edwards - Expect the Unexpected Emily Edwards Oct 15, 2013

Hello flrunners! I apologize that it has been a while since my last blog.  It has been an overwhelming past few weeks with school. I can’t believe the state-series meets are coming up. Time sure does fly by. I hope everyone has enjoyed the season thus far and has run some PRs!

In His Own Words - Blake Riley - PR's All Around Blake Riley Oct 14, 2013

Hey flunners! First off I would like to thank Todd Grasley for allowing me to share my meet experience with you this week! I would also like to congratulate everybody who earned a PR this past meet and I would also like to congratulate Sukhi Khosla on a new Pre-State course record with a14:59!

In Her Own Words: Alex Eaton- Dancing Debut, Never Giving Up Alex Eaton Sep 30, 2013

Hey flrunners! This past weekend my team raced at the Flrunners.com Invitational. Congrats to all who raced at this meet. There were some really fast times, especially from Karen Xiang who won the girls Race of Champions. Flrunners had misty perfect weather (with some showers), and it was really nice to get to race on such a nice, flat course.

In His Own Words: Brandon Marquez - Back Where It All Began Brandon Marquez Sep 27, 2013

Like cross country, school seems to be getting into full stride too.The past few weeks have been pretty busy and demanding, trying to manage practice and lots of AP work to do afterwards. The life of a student-athlete, like all of us are, is grueling sometimes, but like a race you have to keep moving along.

In His Own Words: Blake Riley - Putting My Name In The Record Books Blake Riley Sep 23, 2013

In Her Own Words: Alexa Cruz - Running At The Swamp Alexa Cruz Sep 23, 2013

Hey everyone! Hopefully everybody's season has been great.Even thought it hasn't been a long time since I last blogged, a lot of exciting things have happened since then. From racing at UF to finding out that we're going to Flrunners, it's been quite an eventful week.

In His Own Words: Brandon Marquez - Timber Creek Taking Home Hardware Brandon Marquez Sep 18, 2013

Week two of racing is finally in the books and I would like to say that it has been a blast to be back in the midst of a cross country season. The Timber Creek team took the short trip to Oviedo to race at the Hagerty Invitational. For the first morning meet of the season, I woke up earlier than I would have liked to, but by the end of the day it seemed to be all worth it. However, I will gladly wake up early for some of the cooler weather that was presented to us early in the day.

In His Own Words: Coach David Behm - Detweiller Dreams David Behm Sep 17, 2013

Getting to run at Detweiller was one of my earliest running goals. This is the mecca of Illinois cross country. Craig Virgin, world cross country champion, still holds the record from the early 70’s. 19 days before Thanksgiving there is not a place on earth like Detweiller Park. Being top 25 and an All-Stater was my goal from the first race I ever ran as a 7th grader.

In Her Own Words: Alex Eaton - Lessons Learned Alex Eaton Sep 16, 2013

Hey flrunners! Hope you all are having a great week. My teammates and I did the Mountain Dew Invitational this past Satuday (and so did 71 other girls teams and 68 other boys teams. Crazy! I was so pumped to do this race. I ran my first ever cross country race at UF in 7th grade and it's where I fell in love with running. Also, it was my mom's birthday and I wanted to perform well for her since she came all the way to watch me on her birthday.
