qualify the top 5 performances meeting qualifying standards for each event.
Also qualifying will be the next 4 best performances (wildcards) meeting qualifying
standards from all four sections per class event. If any of the top 5 finishers
in a section event do not meet the qualifying standards, additional wildcards
that meet qualifying standards in that event may be selected from the other
sections in that class. A maximum of 24 may qualify for each state meet event.
Wildcard ties for running events will be broken by reading times to the
thousandths of a second and for field events by using the standard procedure
based on misses or attempts.

A competitor shall not compete in more than
four events, including relays. Late entries will not be accepted. No telephone
entries will be taken. Follow the instructions on the website to register your
team and enter athletes in their events. Every school entering a section meet
must use this site. All questions or problems regarding entering a section meet

NFHS rules. The Uniform Rule will be enforced in accordance with NFHS rules. In

headwear permitted. Medical alert medals should be visible. When the medal is
attached to a bracelet or necklace made of metal or an unyielding material, it
shall be taped to the body. When the medal is attached to a pliable material,
it is not required to be taped to the body. Scarves which are knotted or tied
as headwear are not allowed.

Electronic devices may be used in unrestricted areas and
coaching boxes, provided that the location does not interfere with the progress
of the meet as determined by the Meet Referee. No artificial noise makers
(radios, etc.) and laser lights are allowed. Anything that interferes with the
progress of the meet may be restricted.

CLERKING AREA: All track events will be clerked in under the
tent at the north end of the complex near the flagpole. Please ask athletes to
listen for their event to be called and to report to the clerk in a timely
manner.

CLERKING FOR FIELD EVENTS: All field events will be clerked
in at the event. If an athlete is involved in a track event and a field event
at the same time they should report to the field event first, compete in the
track event, and then return to the field event immediately after running.
Implements will be checked at the event venue. In all throws and horizontal
jumps, participants should be given three trials and then nine athletes advance
to the finals for three more attempts. When all throws and jumps have been
completed and scored, then the minimum qualifying standards are applied to
determine qualifiers for the state meet.

SCORING: Eight places will be scored. Scoring will be
10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for individual and relay events.

QUALIFYING FOR STATE MEET: Schools in each class will
qualify for state competition in four section meets.

NOTE: IN ALL
RELAYS, THE TOP THREE (3) TEAMS FROM EACH SECTION, PLUS FOUR (4) WILDS WILL
QUALIFY. ONLY 16 TEAMS WILL QUALIFY INSTEAD OF 24.  Up to 8 relay team members should be entered
in alabamarunners.com for each relay event. Only the 8 team members listed as
part of the relay team may be used as a substitute for that event. In relay
events, a substitution can be made with any athlete listed as part of the relay
team in the sectional entries.

Relay cards will
be used at both the section and state meets.

Each class in a section will qualify the top 5 performances
meeting qualifying standards for each event. Also qualifying will be the next 4
best performances (wildcards) meeting qualifying standards from all four
sections per class event. If any of the top 5 finishers in a section event do
not meet the qualifying standards, additional wildcards that meet qualifying
standards in that event may be selected from the other sections in that class.
A maximum of 24 may qualify for each state meet event. Wildcard ties for
running events will be broken by reading times to the thousandths of a second
and for field events by using the standard procedure based on misses or
attempts

POLE VAULT: 1. Pole vault verification forms are available
online. Coaches should print the forms and bring them to the meet(s) completed
and signed.

PLEASE REMIND PARENTS AND ATHLETES: As Outdoor Track season gets into full swing, crowd control is of
paramount importance. Only competing athletes, officials, and coaches in the
designated coaches' area are allowed in the competition venue. This includes
the oval, anything inside the oval, and field event areas that are inside or
outside the oval. Parents, uninvolved
teammates, friends and any other person not falling into those categories
should be in the stands, or outside the fenced area of the competition venue.
It is realized that track meets are long affairs where competition takes place
in multiple areas, however there is never an instance where uninvolved people
should be in the competition venue, unless there is an injury situation. No
other sport allows fans and nonessential personnel in the competition area. We
need to do the same.

AWARDS: Team trophies to the top 2 teams in each division. Medals
will be awarded for the top three finishers in each event.

RULES: All AHSAA and National Federation rules on uniforms
will be enforced. School issued uniforms worn as intended by the manufacturer.
Spikes are limited to 1/4 in'' only. Exhibit good sportsmanship at all times.
No profanity, taunting or throwing batons.

SEVERE WEATHER PREPARATIONS: In case
of severe weather all athletes, coaches, and spectators will move to the
elementary school gym and hallways.

CONCESSIONS: Concessions and tee shirts will be on sale
throughout the meet.

SEATING: We advise you to tell your people to bring camp or
lawn chairs due to limited seating. Team tents may be set up inside the fence
adjacent to the track building/concession stand at the north end of the complex
and along the fencing on the east side of the track as well as on the southern
side of the track.

PARKING: Team buses will be parked on the field north of the
track which will be marked with signs. All parking areas on the east side of
the track adjacent to the elementary school and the softball/baseball parking
lots will be for spectators.

ACCOMODATIONS:Hampton Inn located on Hwy 129 just off Corridor X / I-22 at exit 30.
