Meet Information: Northridge HS will host Cross Country Races on Saturday, Aug. 24th@ Sokol Park South(Near Dog Park) starting at 7:30am. Northridge BLACK & BLUE XC Invitational - 2024
Races will include - OPEN Divisions 5K (By Age Groups), 1-Mile Run, Beginners FUN Run(600m), Varsity, JV & Middle School Divisions.

We are going to RUN this Relay Style Format in the Varsity Races(Only). Perhaps if it goes well, we can do it for the other divisions.
NEW FORMAT: Varsity Division ( 2 x 2500m ) half a 5k Relay Style. Coaches will enter just one of the runners(2nd Runner) in the entry process.
JV Division: 5K(Normal). For JV runners, and any runners that don't want to be part of the Relay Style Format.
Middle School Division: 2-mile

8:15am... Youth 1-mile Run(10-12ish years old)
8:30am... Varsity Girls 5K - *Format * 2 x 2500 meters (Relay Style) - 2 Runners, 1 Race Time!
9:00am... Varsity Boys 5K - *Format * 2 x 2500 meters (Relay Style) - 2 Runners, 1 Race Time!
9:30am..Junior Varsity Girls 5K (5000m)
10:00am..Junior Varsity Boys 5K (5000m)
10:30am...Middle School Girls (approx 2.28 mi)
11:00am...Middle School Boys (approx 2.28 mi)

All times are approximate.
Unlimited Entries per Junior Varsity & MS race. Top 7(Teams of 2) for Varsity Races. (14) runners **(Only enter your 2nd runner of the 2-person Team in the entry process.
Entries: The entry fee is $20 per athlete with a maximum of $150 per school per individual race i.e. a school who has a Varsity Girls team and Varsity Boys team would pay $300. Same for JV or Middle School. 2 Teams = $300.
Open Division - $ 25, Fun Run - $ No Charge, 1-Mile Run - $ 5.

fees are to be mailed to 2901 Northridge Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35406.
Your school MUST be a member of the NFHS to be able to
compete in the Varsity or Middle School races. Unattached athletes are not
allowed to participate in the Varsity or Middle School races.

Go to www.al.milesplit.com. Choose the meet under the Calendar heading. Click on the
button and follow the instructions. Deadline for Entry is Wednesday, August 21st
at 11:59 pm Central.

Awards:
In the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Middle School races, the Top 3 teams per race and Top 15 individuals
will receive awards. In OPEN Division - Top 3 Men & Women, in each age division will receive an award.
*All 1- Mile Runners and FUN Run participating runners will receive an award.
Course:Grass and dirt/gravel trails. Spikes recommended.

Directions: To Sokol Park - Exit 73 off of Interstate 20/59 in Alabama. Then
take a right (if coming from Birmingham) on McFarland Blvd. west. Go
approximately 5.25 miles and make a right turn onto Watermelon Road. Go 2
miles, make a right turn at Old Colony Road. Go approximately .3 mile taking a
left into Sokol Park.
