The 2024 Auburn Open



When: Friday, March 29, 2024

Where: Auburn High School

***No 4x8 or 3200m***

Running Events: The running events will begin at 5:00. We will then go on a rolling schedule. The times listed below are estimates. If we can get ahead we will. 

5:00 - 100mh / 110mh

5:15 - 4x100m Relay

5:30 - 1600m

6:00 - 400m

6:20 - 100m

6:35 - 800m

7:00 - 300mh

7:15 - 200m

7:30 - 4x400m Relay

Field Events: Field events will begin at 5:00. We will start a 30 min warmup for the alternate gender event as soon as the 5:00 competition is complete.

All starts at 5:00 PM

Shot:  Girls / Boys - Minimum Girls (28') / Boys (38')

Discus:  Boys / Girls - Minimum Girls (75') / Boys (110')

Javelin:  Girls / Boys - Minimum Girls (80') / Boys (125')

Long Jump:  Boys / Girls - Minimum Boys (18') / Girls (14')

Triple Jump:  Girls / Boys - Minimum Girls (27') / Boys (35')

Pole Vault:  Girls / Boys

High Jump:  Boys / Girls

Try to avoid pulling into campus before 4:00 PM.  The traffic will be tight until then. Thanks. 

Entry Fee: 

Varsity: $10.00/athlete and $10.00/relay max $400 per school.

Middle School: $10.00/athlete and $10.00/relay max $150 per school.

Entry Deadline: Entries must be submitted on AlabamaRunners.com by March 1, 2023. No LATE ENTRIES will be accepted. All entries must be completed on alabarunners.com. A varsity athlete can participate in a total of 4 events only. Max of 5 Athletes per individual event, and only 2 relay teams per school. No Prelims, all running events- Finals on time. Please pay close attention to order of events. Please notice minimum standards in jumps and throws.

Middle School:  Any middle school athlete can participate in a total of 3 events only. There will be a max of 3 athletes per individual event, and only 2 relay teams per school. No Prelims, all running events- Finals on time. Please pay attention to the events offered for middle school teams. 

Absolutely no spikes over 1/4" will be allowed. Disqualification will occur for any athlete is found in violation.

Substitutions: No substitutions will be allowed on the day of the meet. Print your entries as verification.

Scoring: 10-8-6-4-2-1

Awards: Medals to the top three in each event. Team trophies awarded to the top male and female Varsity and MS teams. We will also award a varsity high point award winner for girls and boys.

Concessions will be available.

There will be hospitality for coaches only and officials only. You will be given a meal ticket.

*Coaches please inform any parents or spectators that will be attending the meet, that there is a $5.00 entry fee for the meet. The entry gate is near front of the track.*  Tickets can also be purchased before hand on Gofan or at the Gate.

Everyone must stay outside the track area. The infield is CLOSED to everyone!

All teams need to set up on the grass outside the far side of the track. No teams are allowed in the area of the stands nearest the home stretch or on any concrete surface.

Directions:

From I-85:

Take Exit 57 (Bent Creek Rd).Turn on Bent Creek Rd toward the Airport.

Turn Left at the light on to Glenn Ave

Pass the Church of the Highlands

Turn Left at Airport Rd (light) just as you pass Sun South(John Deere tractor sales)

Take your first right at you enter the AHS parking lot.

Follow the parking lot around to the back of AHS (baseball fields will be on your right and the school building on your left.

Continue past the baseball fields toward the track.

Unload your athletes past the main entrance of the track at the far end of the track.

Park the bus against the right hand curb of the driveway around the track. Pull all the way down.

From Hwy 280:

Exit 280 at College Street (the old Bottle)

Turn Left at the light for Shug Jordan/University Drive(Publix is on your left)

Follow University drive past the Mall, Rail Road tracks, and AHS Football Stadium

Turn Left at the light past the football stadium on to Glen nave.

At the next light Turn right at Airport Rd (light) just as you pass Sun South (John Deere tractor sales)

Take your first right at you enter the AHS parking lot.

Follow the parking lot around to the back of AHS (baseball fields will be on your right and the school building on your left.

Continue past the baseball fields toward the track.
