This is the same course as Birmingham Middle School Metro Championship Race.
RACE SCHEDULE:
4:30 pm: Middle School Girls
5:00 pm: Middle School Boys
5:30 pm: AWARDS
Awards: Top 20 boys and Top 20 girls will earn elite finisher shirts at the first annual Berry Backwoods Challenge.
Cost: $150 per team per gender $300 per school or $20 per athlete if not a full team
Thanks to the City of Hoover and Shelby County's Discover Shelby we now have a new course through the woods and the existing course in the field and around the lake will be upgraded and improved.
Berry Middle School is excited to host their first meet on this new course at Veterans Park.
A new course map is being made and will be posted here soon because everything is different We also hope to get video loaded here for everyone to preview. This new course gets back to the concept being a true cross country course with mostly a natural surface and some packed gravel and grass. Athletes will start in the field and head into the woods where new winding trails provide an entirely new experience with several different legs of the trail winding up and down and around some of the hills that were previously only in the background scenery of the old course.
The new course will be very coach and spectator friendly in the woods because the athletes can be seen multiple times as they traverse the new trails back there. The last portion of the course will be around the lake and fields.
