Welcome to the Annual River Region Invitational. 

Coaches meeting at 11:30 A.M. Field events at 12:00 P.M.  Running events start at 1:00 P.M.

Awards will be given to the top 2 schools and top 3 individuals in all events. Cost: $10.00 each individual event and $10.00 each relay entered. Middle school teams are welcome to compete in the MS divisions only. (7th-8th grade) Awards for top 2 in each event and top 2 teams overall. Coaches meeting at 11:30 am (Field Events start 12:00)    Host:   WHS and Selma HS Meet Director: Coach W. Facility: Wetumpka Complex and Stadium track is eight lanes and consists of a new rubber surface. All throwing will be done at Wetumpka High School practice field. ( 251 Coosa River Parkway Wetumpka, AL 36092)  All spikes must be 1/4 inch or shorter. (Spike Check) Teams will be asked to set up tents in designated areas or on the hill. No tents will be allowed in the stands area. No athletes in the competition area unless competing. There is plenty of seating available for spectators. Concession/Vendors available and a hospitality room for coaches. $5 admission for adults and students. (5$ Parking) Teams may sit on the visitor side in designated area or setup tents outside of the stadium. All teams will enter from HWY 14 by the baseball/softball fields. Spectators will enter on the home side on Holtville Hwy.

Directions: From Montgomery: Travel north on Highway 231. When you reach Highway 231 and Highway 14 intersection, turn left onto Coosa River Parkway. Just after you pass over the Coosa River Bridge, turn left into the complex.

From Birmingham: Travel south on I-65. Take the Highway 14 exit (Exit #181). Turn left onto Highway 14 east. In Elmore, Highway 14 turns right at traffic light. When you arrive into Wetumpka, turn left at flashing yellow light onto Coosa River Parkway. Travel approximately 2 miles through two traffic lights and the complex will be on the right.

Equipment: Starting blocks and implements in all field events are supplied. Please bring your own shots, discus, and javelins, and poles but they will become property of the field. 

Entries: There is an entry limit. Only the top three individuals on a team in each event may score. Additionally, each school may only score one relay. A participant can enter up to 4 events, including relays. 4 individuals in each event. All entries will be done on line through alabamarunners.com. Please refer to the instructions found there.

Entry Deadline:  No entries will be taken after that time.
Sanctions: The meet is sanctioned by the AHSAA.

Entry Fee:$10.00 per athlete entered and $10.00 per relay entered. $300 school max fees. Checks should be made payable to Wetumpka HS and can be mailed or brought to the meet. Middle School max fees are $200

Scoring: Individual Events: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 Relays: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 Field Events: Each jumper/thrower will have three attempts. In the throws and horizontal jumps, the first mark will be measured, and then subsequent throws/jumps must meet the standards below.

Note:

Teams, spectators coaches, may want to bring lawn chairs, coolers, snacks and tents for the throwing events at Wetumpka HS. 

Buses will enter on the visitor side of the stadium. Teams will setup tents on the hill on the home side or the parking lot of the home side. The visitor side bleachers will also be available for team seating but no tents.

All parking will be on the home side. Handicap parking is available near the front of the home side of the stadium.

No athletes, parents, coaches on the infield once meet starts per AHSAA!! There will be assigned coaches boxes.
