Small Schools Division 1A-4A
Due to the current situation and in an attempt to insure a safer race, the Chickasaw Trails Small Schools races will now be hosted on Friday, Sept 11th, 2020. ***We will update the Oakville Indian Mounds Park and Educational Facility protocol in regards to the virus on a daily basis.
***Our comprehensive plan for a safe and healthy race will be posted soon.

Race Schedule:
1A-2A Division: 221 Students or less in grades 10-12
3A-4A Division: 222 Students or more, up to 373 students in grades 10-12
*We follow the school size category of the AHSAA, therefore, out of stat private schools mut multiply enrollment by 1.35% (grades 10-12) to determine the division that your team will compete in.
*Awards can be picked up by coaches at a designated area.
It is permissible for a small school to compete with large schools on Saturday (if room is available).
Entry Fees: (Due to hosting a two day event, the cost of our events have increased, therefore, the entry fees have increased as well.
$80 per division
$20 per athlete, not to exceed $50 per division
$320 cap for each school

Awards:
Each division's top 10 finisher will receive an award tee shirt
Top 3 teams in each division receive trophies.
Top 5 finishers in each division receive a medal.
Overall finisher in each division receives an individual trophy.
*Pets and Bicycles are not allowed at the race venue.

COVID-19 Safety UPDATE/GUIDELINES
>The Alabama Department of Public Health supports the Alabama High School athletic Association's (AHSAA) Best Practices Return to Play which provides basic guidance for schools for the 2020-21 athletic seasons. Specators are allowed to attend athletic events, but attendance will be significantly reduced. >Spectators are not to congregate within 6 feet of a person from another household except to the extent necessary. >Spectators must wear a mask or other facial covering that covers the nostrils and mouth at all times while within 6 feet of person from another household.
>Finish Chute will be lengthen and widen. Also, the finish chute will be barricaded whereas there will a 10 ft distance between the finish line fencing and spectators.
>The starting line will be barricaded from spectators.
>The portable toilets are cleaned according to the CDC's guidelines.
>Coaches should use good judgement in setting up team tents in regards to social distancing. In addition to expanding the usual tent area at Oakville, use the boarders of the lake and the east side of the starting line. More instruction on team set up will be posted later.
>All spectators are encouraged to social distance and wear face mask.
>There will be limited pre-packaged concession stand items available.
>The starting line management staff will notify teams when the team may approach the starting line. (5 minutes before scheduled race time).
>Only coaches, runners and race staff will be allowed access to the starting line.
>Runners may wear a mask into the the starting box, secure in hand while running or on shorts, and put back on while in the finish chute.
>Limited finish line staff will be available.
>Bottle water will be provided for each runner.
>Timing chips will not be taken off at the finish chute.
>Coaches will return race packets including race chips to the registration tent after completion of the race.
>Schools will be invoiced $25 for each chip not returned.
