*The Southeastern Relays is the Gulf Coasts oldest prep track & field meet!

Meet Site: Satsuma High School's Athletic Complex

Date: Saturday, March 23rd, 2019

Host Schools: Satsuma High School & Murphy High School

Meet Directors: Brent Rawson, head coach @ Satsuma HS

Admission: $5 per adult; $5 per child

Entry Fee: $75 per team $150 per school (boys & girls); Make all checks payable to "MURPHY TRACK". Checks should be brought to the meet. Without such, athletes from the non-paying school may not be able to participate. Please visit the registration table to take care of payment and retrieve your team's meet packet upon arrival at the meet site.

Entry Deadline: Entries must be made through Alabama Runners by 11:59PM on Wednesday, March 20th. No entries will be taken after that time! Performance lists will hopefully be posted on Alabama Runners mid-day on Friday, March 22nd. If not, they will be in your team's meet packet.

Entries: Each school will be limited to 1 relay team per gender, per event. Field events and hurdle relays will consist of a two person scoring relay. You will be permitted three entries per field event and hurdle relay. You may enter an athlete in more than four running relay events; however, he/she may compete in a maximum of four.

JV Open 1600m: Participants in the JV Open 1600m cannot compete on any of the Varsity relay races. Please email entries to brawson@satsumaschools.com by the entry deadline.

Sanctioning: The meet will be sanctioned for members of the AHSAA (Alabama), MHSAA (Mississippi) and FHSAA (Florida).

Scratches/Substitutions: Substitutions for relay events will be permitted. Names for athletes who are subbed for in field or hurdle events will remain the same as the athlete name submitted during registration. Each athlete can compete in a maximum of four relay events. Any athlete that competes in five or more relay events will be disqualified, thus disqualifying each relay he/she participates in (Rule 4, Section 2, Article 2).

Appeals: Any appeal must be given to the meet referee in writing accompanied with $25.00cash within 30 minutes of infraction. If the appeal is upheld, the money will be refunded. Appealable offenses are misapplications of NFHSA rules. Judgment calls cannot be appealed. Please have your rule book with you when appealing any infraction.

Event Scoring: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Field events are scored as relays with the distances of your top two athletes best marks combined together.

Any recorded marks, whether or not they meet minimum standards, will be used in determining scoring for events.

The hurdle races must have two competitors with their times added together to score.

Awards: Team Trophies 1st and 2nd Place; Boys and Girls Division

Richmond Brown Outstanding Performance Award  *Athletes are nominated by coaches.

Field Event Minimum Standards:

Due to the larger than anticipated number of teams for this competition, minimum standards for throwing events and horizontal jumps have been changed. Please see below for new standards. Each athletes first non-foul attempt will be measured regardless of whether he/she meets the standards. Each subsequent attempt must meet the minimum standard in order to have it measured.

Athletes in the horizontal jumps and throws will receive 3 attempts (no finals).

All throws will be taken two and then one time to expedite the competition (2 + 1).

An athletes first non-foul attempt will be measured.

For each following attempt, he/she must meet the minimum standard to receive a measurement.

Bus Parking: Drop off at back side of track & park at the library. See included picture diagram.Dressing: There will be no dressing rooms or showers; however, restrooms will be available.

Coaches Boxes: When coaching at a field event, all coaches must be inside of the designated coaching area. Field officials will be instructed to ask a coach to leave if he/she cannot follow directions.

Results: All results will be submitted to Alabama Runners.

8:30 AM Field Event Warm-ups begin. Except discus.

9:00 AM Boys Javelin followed (30 minutes after) by Girls Javelin (All Javelins must have rubber tips)

Girls Shot Put followed (30 minutes after) by Boys Shot Put. (You may bring your shots to the competition. Meet referee will declare the ones to be used in competition.)

Boys High Jump followed (30 minutes after) by Girls High Jump.

Girls Pole Vault followed (30 minutes after) by Boys Pole Vault.

Boys Triple Jump followed (30 minutes after) by Girls Long Jump.
