No implement will be weighed. All javelins and discus will be open to the field throughout the entire competition. Shots will be provided.

Admission:$5 per person

Entry Fee: $65 per team $130 per school (boys & girls);
Make all checks payable to CHCA. Checks (or a copy of the purchase order for the meet fee) should be brought to the meet. Without such, athletes from the non-paying school will not be able to participate. Schools may mail checks to host school (CHCA), however, please bring a copy of your purchase order. Please visit the registration table to take care of payment and retrieve meet packet.
No checks in the mail explanation will be allowed on race day!

Entry Deadline: Entries must be made through Alabama Runners by Tuesday, March 12, 8:59PM. No entries will be taken after that time! Performance list will be posted on Alabama Runners and/or www.cottagehillrunners.com on Friday, March 15.

ORDER OF EVENTS:
We plan to run all events according to the following times, however, as we all know, not all meets run according to plan. We will make first, second, and final calls for all events. Our goal is to have a safe, quality track and field competition.

9:00 AM
Field Event Warm-ups begin. Except discus.

9:30 AM
Boys Javelin followed (30 minutes) after by Girls Javelin.
o Each javelin will then be open to the field.
Girls Shot Put followed (30 minutes) after by Boys Shot Put.
o Do not bring your shots. We will have a set of shots open to the field.

Boys High Jump followed (30 minutes) after by Girls High Jump.
Girls Pole Vault followed (30 minutes) after by Boys Pole Vault.
Boys Triple Jump followed (30 minutes) after by Boys Long Jump.
Girls Long Jump followed (30 minutes) after by Girls Triple Jump.

9:45 AM
4x1600m (Girls followed by Boys)
300m Hurdles (Girls followed by boys: must have 2 athletes for relay to score)

11:30 AM
4x800m (Girls followed by Boys)
100m/110m Hurdles (Girls followed by boys: must have 2 athletes for relay to score)
Sprint Medley (Girls followed by boys: 200m-200m-400m-800m)

12:30 PM
Discus competition will begin following the conclusion of high jump, pole vault, shot put, and javelin.
o Girls Discus (south cage)
o Boys Discus (north cage)

o Each discus will then be open to the field.

Distance Medley (800m-400m-1200m-1600m)

Awards Presentation

Entries: This is a Varsity Invitational Competition. Our goal is to run a high quality competition. Therefore, each school will be limited to 1 relay team per event. Field event and Hurdle races will consist of a two person relay. Performances will be combined for team score.
PLEASE NO REQUESTS FOR B TEAMS OR JV PARTICIPANTS.

Sanctioning: The meet will be sanctioned for members of the AHSAA (Alabama), MHSAA (Mississippi), and FHSAA (Florida). No exceptions.

Scratches/Substitutions: Since this is a relay meet, coaches may make SUBSTITUTIONS in all events, including field events. SUBSTITUTIONS in field events will occur during check-in with the official. A coach must be present with the official during check-in if a substitution is being made. Each athlete may only compete in a maximum of four relay events. Any athlete that competes in five or more relay events will be disqualified, thus disqualifying each relay he/she participates in.

Appeals: Any appeal must be given to the referee in writing accompanied with $25.00 within 30 minutes of infractions. If appeal is upheld, the money will be refunded. Appealable offenses are misapplications of NFHSA rules. Judgment calls cannot be appealed. Please have your rule book with you when appealing any infraction.

Event Scoring: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Field events are scored as relays with the distance of your two entries best mark added together for a total distance.
o Any recorded marks, whether or not they meet minimum standards, will be used in determining scoring for events.
The hurdle races must have two competitors with their times added together to score.

Awards:
Team Trophies 1st and 2nd Place Girls and Boys Division
T-shirts for Top Relay Teams in each event.
Richmond Brown Outstanding Performance Award
o Athletes are nominated by coaches.

Field Event Minimum Standards:

Shot Put - 36' - 26'
Discus - 90' - 65'
Javelin - 115' - 70'
Long Jump - 18' - 13'6"
Triple Jump - 36' - 27'
High Jump - 52 - 42
Pole Vault - 86 - 7'0
*Standards may be adjusted before meet.
Athletes in the horizontal jumps and throws will receive 4 attempts (no finals).
Shot Put & Discus throws will be taken two at time to expedite the competition (2 + 2).
o Each athletes first non-foul attempt will be measured.
o For each following attempt, he/she must meet the minimum standard to receive a measurement.

Parking: All Vehicles should park in the Gamma Parking Lot located north of the track facility. No vehicles should park between the Mitchell Center and track facility.

Dressing: There will be no dressing rooms or showers; however, portable restrooms are available.

Spikes: 1/8 to only!

Concessions: There will be full concessions sold.

Track Officials: Port City Track Officials Association

Coaches Boxes: When coaching at a field event, all coaches must be inside of the coaching box. Field officials will be instructed to ask a coach to leave if he/she cannot follow directions.

Results: All results will be submitted to Alabama Runners.
