1A/2A BOYS
Alex Enns (3rd in 1A/2A, 2011 - Holy Spirit), Seamus Russell (33rd in 1A/2A, 2011 - St Benard), and Will Faulk (11th in 1A/2A., 2011 - St Benard) have all gone under the 17 minute barrier this year for the AHSAA's smallest division. With many athletes running their season best (SB) times at state each year, several athletes should be in the 16 minute range at the end of the race.
From a team perspective, St Benard having two front runners will help them be a contender to win. Newcomer to 1A/3A Montgomery Academy should also have three runners in the top 10. Other teams that could possibly round out the top 5 are Hatton, Westminster School at Oak Mountain, and Holy Spirit Catholic. The top 3 teams are extremely close and could go to any of them.
