1A - 3A State Meet

Cedar Bluff’s boys and girls track teams won their sixth consecutive Class 1A state championship

American Christian won its sixth straight Class 2A girls state title.

Class 2A Boys 4x100 relay: LaFayette ran  43.37 to set a new Class 2A record.
Class 2A Boys Shot Put: Nathan Karr of American Christian set a state record with his first throw, then broke that mark one throw later. He finally set the 2A mark (50 feet, 2 inches) with his final throw.
Class 3A Girls 4x800 relay: Montgomery Academy’s 10:09.18 set a new state record.
Class 3A Boys Javelin: Tyler Grigsby of Rogers bested the field with a 3A state record toss of  176 feet, 6 inches.
 

4A - 6A State Meet

St. Paul’s Lady Saints track team claim their seventh consecutive AHSAA Class 5A championship. It was the 22nd girls title in school history for Coach Jim Tate’s program.
  
Saint Paul’s Lacy Dent set a Class 5A state record in the triple jump with a winning leap of 39-11.75. Dent also won the long jump, 100-meter hurdles 300-meter hurdles.

Guntersville’s Raven Stewart turned in one of the top performances ever in Class 4A. She set a new 4A state record in the 100-meter hurdles with a winning time of 14.48 seconds. She also won the long jump, triple jump and 300-meter hurdles.


Class 4A, Boys 1600 run: Alex Gilliland of Oneonta broke two records that had been held by T.R. Miller’s Don Moody for 17 years. Gilliland set the new standards with a 4:27.74 time in the 1,600-meter run and 9:51.91 in the 3,200-meter run.
Class 5A, Boys Shot Put: Devon Lockett of Central-Tuscaloosa became the 5A record holder with a winning throw of 55 feet.
