What To Watch For: AHSAA Indoor State Championships

The AHSAA State Indoor Meet is just around the corner, promising a thrilling showcase of talent and competition across various classifications. As athletes from across the state gear up, the anticipation for Friday's kickoff is exciting, featuring the 4A-5A and 7A classes on display.  Then to cap off the 2025 AHSAA State Indoor Championships we will see the teams and athletes from 1A-3A and 6A compete for individual and team titles.

Boys 1A-3A Class: The spotlight shines on Altamont as they hope to be back on top in 2025!

Girls 1A-3A Class: The battle for supremacy sees Altamont aiming to get back on top of the classification.

Boys 6A Classification: Northridge High School, with its arsenal of field event specialists, stands as the favorite. 

Girls 6A Classification: Mountain Brook, with their typical arsenal of athletes seek to defend their title, led by vaulting stand out Annie Kerr.  The very talented ladies of Chelsea High School hope to spoil Mountain Brook's party led by the very speedy Ty Cason and Mia Dunavant who offer an incredible 1-2 punch!

4A-5A Girls: Hamilton is the favorite here in this classification led by Kyra Casey.  Also in the mix is Bayside Academy, Center Point, and Scottsboro.  This will be one of the closest battles of the weekend as 17 points separate 1st to 4th in the virtual rankings!

4A-5A Boys: A two-horse race is on the horizon between Hamilton and Scottsboro's well-rounded squad.

Boys 7A Classification: The Hoover High Buccaneers are once again the team to beat, boasting a well-balanced squad with particular strength in the jumps, led by standout athlete Charles Crowder. However, the race for second place should be close between Vestavia Hills, and Hewitt-Trussville both eyeing the podium.

Girls 7A Classification: The battle will be on for the runner-up position in Class 7A as the Hoover High squad is incredibly deep and talented yet again in 2025.  The race for second should be an exciting to watch unfold as  Vestavia HillsSt. Paul's Episcopal, Hewitt-Trussville, and Opelika are all within 10 points of one another in the virtual standings!
