Huntsville High School
What was your most memorable meet and why?
2022 Scottsboro Meet. Huntsville handed the baton off in second, and I was the anchor leg. I was about 30 yards behind Sparkman when I started. On the last 120 meters left in the race I slung off the curve, beat the other runner, and won the race. My team ran over all everyone celebrated. We probably had 75 kids run out there on to the track for that.
Where did you face your biggest competition?
Mountain Brook
Out of all of your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most and why?
The 4x8, because I didn't think I was built to be on a team like that. I also didn't really want to do it. Along with a 4x4 and a split time of 48.
If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your running career in high school?
I would focus more on weights and sprints.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome during your HS Track career?
I ran everything. I couldn't focus on certain things because I was a 100, 200, 400, and 800 runner.
What will you miss the most?
My team.
Do you have any advice for younger athletes?
You get in what you put out.
What are your post-highschool or college plans? Who would you like to say thank you to?
I'm running at Troy University. Go Trojans! I appreciate my team, my coaches, my friends, family, my competitors, and the man upstairs. Without God, none of this would have been possible.
