The Randolph Classic was always my favorite meet, because we got to run through the creek four times. And it was funny to watch all the wipeouts in the mud.
Where did you face your biggest competition?
At state every year.
Out of all of your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most and why?
Getting accepted into the Naval Academy was my biggest accomplishment because there was so much work put into not just the application but also all of the other accomplishments, awards, and leadership roles along the way.
If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your running career in high school?
I would have started running track earlier, rather than starting during the spring semester of sophomore year.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome during your HS Track career?
The variety of injuries I had to face that held my back from doing what I knew I was capable of.
What will you miss the most?
I will definitely miss the the Eagle Point long runs with the team.
Do you have any advice for younger athletes?
1. Take VERY good care of your legs
2. don't be ashamed of being a runner
3. The pain of pushing yourself during a race is worth it in the end
