Shana Sellers, Pearl at Clinton
After a week off Brooklyn Biancamano, Long Beach came back strong using the fast Ocean Spring course to retake the season lead in the MHSAA. Shana Sellers, Pearl High moved into the top ten with her fantastic 19:43.82 over Clintons new and muddy course. Madison Jones, Saltillo High is back in action after being out for the first part of the season. She finished second behind teammate Mia Card, Saltillo High at Tupelo and is in 9th place with 19:52.44.
We have over 850 girl athletes active now in the MHSAA rankings. If you combine this with the boys that means right at 2000 runners just in the public schools.
I believe most of the runners here will be in action this Saturday at the Watson High School Meet. However, Brooklyn is competing at the Jesse Owens Large School Divison race this weekend.
