What was your most memorable meet and why?

The most memorable meet I have ever participated in was the AHSAA Alabama State Track Meet 2015. This was my last high school meet ever (other than decathlon). I won the 300 Hurdles, and my 4X4 team won gold as well. Also, the Boys team came in 2nd in state. It was awesome.

Where did you face your biggest competition?

Junior Olympics in Houston, TX and Des Moines, Iowa Summer 2014

Out of all of your high school accomplishments which stands out the most and why?

Winning two state titles in one day was incredibly exciting. Winning the Bryant Jordan Region 8, Bryant Jordan 4A state award and the Bubba Scott Coaches Scholarship was extremely humbling.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

For sure, I would have started earlier.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

Dealing with health issues has made me stronger. I fight to increase my lung capacity every day due to lung disease. I have very little hearing and have to be careful to listen or watch for the flag with the starter in a race. Taking medicine regularly for stomach and sugar issues as well have been obstacles but these obstacles have made me a better athlete. I know I have to always work hard and this will help me work harder in every aspect of life. I am thankful.

What will you miss the most?

My team

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

Enjoy making new friends.

What are your post-high school or college plans?

I am excited to attend Columbus State University in Georgia in the fall on a track and field scholarship. Go Cougars!!!

Who would you like to say thank you to?
