Central Magnet School, TN
Central Magnet School (Murfreesboro, TN) opened in August 2010 and continues its short, but rich cross country tradition. This past season the boys team captured the TN team A-AA state title. In addition, Claudia Smith won the individual girls A-AA race in the state meet in November 2013. In only four short years of existence, the Central Magnet cross country program has claimed two boys team region championships, one boys team region runner-up, one girls team region championship, and one girls team region runner-up.
The 2014 season has been a memorable one already. The boys are rebuilding this year but have shown great strides and continue to surpass expectations. Freshman Jordan Shirley has come on very strong, leading the team at the Sharp Springs Invitational. Sophomore Nathan Delk, Junior Ben Waldecker, and Senior Parker White have been competing as the team's top finisher at various races this season. The Lady Tigers have been impressive this season, with freshman Taylor Cuneo leading the way. Cuneo finished runner up in the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational in September. Senior Claudia Smith, Junior Rebekah Wich, and Junior Maryam Muhammad are all playing important .
