Lyle goes Sub 5: Strozier and Reddy just miss it

In one of the best girls 1600m races in Alabama HS history, three girls had the possibility of going under 5 minutes.

Rachael Reddy (Mountain Brook) led much of the race with Veronica Lyle (Hewitt-Trussville) and Mary Grace Strozier (Pelham) sitting right off of her.  With 300m to go Strozier took the lead with the first change in order since the beginning.  With 200m to go Lyle began to use the kick she has become famous for this season and moved to the front.  As the clock ticked down it looked like all three girls had the possibility of going sub 5.
