RUNNER-UP for Boys and Girls!!! The AHSAA 1A State Meet in Selma was an exciting time that was the pinnacle of all the work that the Westminster Knights put in for the last several months. 3rd for Boys, 6th for Girls seemed very unlikely finishes for the 2012 AHSAA Indoor State Championship as only 4 girls and 7 boys entered the meet from a school with a rating of 40 in the High School. Impressive!!! Adam Dunkerley is State Champion, Morgan Reynolds is All-State... What more can I say except the Boys Varsity placed 4th for the 3rd time in 4 years and Maddie Hoagland placed 18th. We lose two runner from the boys Varsity and will re-load with young legs. Congratulations...

Our Varsity Boys claimed second place behind the top ranked Cottage Hill Warriors. Adam Dunkerley won the 5K with a personal record of 17:04.20. He was followed by Noah Thompson, Drew Parker, Cole Moffett, and Ethan Shaw. Our Girls Varsity placed 4th, just missing going to State by 10 points. With a good combination of youth and experienced runners, Westminster looks to make it back to State as a team this year. Running in the most competitive Sectional in the state gives rise to working hard all year. We look forward to seeing how the Lord will bless the work that the runners do.
