NEW MARKET, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville women's cross country team started the 2013 campaign in terrific fashion on a gorgeous Saturday morning at Sharon Johnston Park, using a strong all-around effort to claim the Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial Invitational title. The University of Alabama in Huntsville cross country teams ran at the popular Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday, and the men’s squad finished a strong sixth while the ladies placed 38th as both fields featured numerous Division I institutions.
The University of Alabama in Huntsville men’s cross country team will start the 2012 campaign exactly where it left off in 2011 – ranked tops in the South Region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The women’s squad also owns a strong position in the preseason rankings as it is ranked fourth start the year.
It was a great 2011-2012 in both cross country and track across the Sunshine State. Many of our seniors will soon be on their way to start their college careers both athletically and academically so we wanted to salute them one more time in this special feature.
