Oak Mountain High School Cross Country Invitational

Middles School Meet will be on THURSDAY evening and the HS meet will be on Saturday morning, separate days. It was moved to Thursday due to Oak Mt. Home football game at same venue on Friday. This change should help with the traffic, restroom, and parking issues of the past. Join us for the most fun cross country race of the season: Oak Mountain Cross Country Invitational Race. The meet is located at Heardmont Park directly behind OMHS football stadium. The course is a true cross country course including several creek crossings, gravel, mud, and grass throughout. Tight turns, long straights, plenty of trees, and mild hill. The MS course is 3200m features over a single loop. Approximately 50m of the course is on a paved cart path. The area after the creek gets very muddy after a few races; Spikes are highly recommended. Improved spectator views of the creek.

Directions:

From I-65: Going south on I-65 from Birmingham turn left on AL 119 go approximately 4 miles and Heardmont Park is on the left just before North Shelby public library.

From Hwy 280: Get on AL 119 west (towards I-65) for approximately 6 miles. Heardmont Park is located on AL 119 one mile west of the County Road 14 traffic light.

4:00 p.m. MS Girls A 3200m Race (TOP 15)

4:30 p.m. MS Boys A 3200m Race (TOP 15)

4:50 p.m. MS Girls B 3200m Race (unlimited)

5:15 p.m. MS Boys B 3200m Race (unlimited)

5:40 p.m. Awards School awards

The A Race division is for your top 15 athletes regardless of your school classification. This is to help ensure a clean and safe start, and provide for a quality race experience. Coaches, please discuss with your athletes which race division is appropriate, and place them accordingly. .

All schools must be members of the AHSAA or their state association.

Entry: ALL entries must be completed via Milesplit.

Fees: Middle School Division is $10 per runner and a maximum $150 per gender team.You may also pay day of meetBoys and girls are separate. For example: bring a full MS Boys team and MS Girls team = $300.

Awards: T-Shirts awarded to the to the Top 15 individual finishers in the "A" race. Medals to top 3 individuals in Top 15 race. Top two "A" teams will receive awards.
