Race is sanctioned for AHSAA member schools only.
3A section 3 teams:
Asbury, Brindlee Mountain, Fyffe, Geraldine, Glencoe, Hokes Bluff, Holly Pond, J.B. Pennington, Pleasant Valley, Susan Moore
4A section 2 teams:
Anniston, Ashville, Cherokee County, DAR, Etowah, Handley, Jacksonville, Munford, New Hope, North Jackson, Oneonta, White Plains


$75 per gender team.

$150 for complete team(boys and girls)

$15 per individual runner (if not enough for team of 5)

Team packets may be picked up starting at 8 am from the registration tent.

Parking $5

No team may arrive earlier than 7:30 am due to school traffic

Race Schedule:
9 am - (3A) Girls
9:30 am - (3A) Boys
10 am - (4A) Girls
10:30 - (4A) Boys
Awards - 11 am
Top 15 runners in each division receive all sectional tshirts.  These were last year's shirts.
Top three runners in each division receive medals.
Top four teams in each division receive trophies.
Top 6 individual state qualifiers (outside of top 4 teams) from each race receive a medal.

The AHSAA strongly suggests that we provide additional Covid19 safety protocol for our race.
Coaches, please use this checklist as a guide before, during and after the race. Thank you for your help!


Coach checklist:



Coaches only will pick up the packet

Coaches (or a team assistant) may select and set up team area


Coaches will then communicate for athletes to enter team area



Coaches will ensure social distancing and face coverings



Coaches will instruct all parents to remain in parking area until 5 minutes before race



Coaches will distribute bibs and chips (be sure to count how many you received)



Teams may warm up without interacting or socializing with other teams



Coaches (or a team assistant) may provide snacks, water, hand sanitizer for your team



Coaches instruct athletes to approach start line 5 minutes before wave start



Coaches instruct athletes to remove masks upon race officials whistle



Coaches instruct athletes to wear face mask upon finishing



Coaches instruct athletes to return immediately to tent area for water



Coaches (or assistant) may collect timing chips and place back in ziplock bag



Timing chips not returned will be charged to the team not the meet director


A team captain/coach/assistant may view the posted results. Take pics. share via text



Those teams that did not receive trophies may leave.



Athletes that did not receive medals or overall awards may leave.



Only coaches, medalists, and team captains should stay for awards.



Return timing chips before leaving the competition site.

Special Rules- From AHSAA Fall Sports Book-

1. A team must participate in a section qualifying meet in order to be eligible for the state meet.

2. Submit entries via the Alabama Runners website (www.alabamarunners.com) one week before the section meet.

3. A school competing in a section meet may enter a maximum of 10 runners in each division in which it enters.

4. A school competing in the state meet may enter a maximum of 10 runners in each division in which it qualifies.

5. Individuals and teams may qualify for the state meet at a section meet.

6. Running combined races in section meets is permitted at the discretion of the section meet director.

7. Schools may substitute team members between the section and state meets.

8. The assignment of teams in the starting boxes at the state meet will be based on section winners, runners-up, and third place finishers.

9. Schools that fail to participate in a section meet after submitting entry forms are subject to a monetary fine.

10.Use of GPS tracking/timing devices by participants is not allowed.

Section Qualifying Meets:

Section qualifying meets must be held Nov 5 - 7, 2020

The girls and boys divisions in each class of a section meet will qualify:

(a) The top four teams

(b) The top six individuals not on the section rosters of the four qualifying

GPS tracking/timing devices by participants are not allowed.

Per NFHS rules, coaches and athletes may not pace or run with participants during the race.

Per NFHS rules, the use of electronic devices for any review of an official's decision is not permitted
