3A Section 1

The race will be held at Eastgate park

The address is 1949 Sanitary Dairy Rd Ashford, AL 36312.

This is a Sectional race held for State Qualifying. Special rules and considerations from the AHSAA sports book are listed below. Top 10 athletes only. The course will be a one loop 5k race around the park perimeter. All grass with minimal dirt and gravel road crossings. Course is spectator friendly with ample parking. Packet pick up and awards will be held at the pavilion. (we will attempt an in person awards ceremony at the meet if we are able to keep everyone masked up, doing things quickly and safely).

Bus parking will be on the grass hill past the dog park on the left hand side of the gravel road. Restrooms and port a-potties will be available on site but in a limited capacity. Please do not use these areas as a changing room.



Course Description
: Course is a grass loop along a dirt road and around a small lake with minimal dirt and gravel path crossings. Spikes recommended.

Fees:

$15 per athlete. $150 maximum per school. Make all checks payable to Providence Christian Cross Country. No online payments. Please bring check or copy of PO to packet pick up on race day.

Special Rules- From AHSAA Fall Sports Book-



1. A team must participate in a section qualifying meet in order to be eligible for the state meet.

2. Submit entries via the Alabama Runners website (www.alabamarunners.com) one week before the section meet.

3. A school competing in a section meet may enter a maximum of 10 runners in each division in which it enters.

4. A school competing in the state meet may enter a maximum of 10 runners in each division in which it qualifies.

5. Individuals and teams may qualify for the state meet at a section meet.

6. Running combined races in section meets is permitted at the discretion of the section meet director.

7. Schools may substitute team members between the section and state meets.

8. The assignment of teams in the starting boxes at the state meet will be based on section winners, runners-up, and third place finishers.

9. Schools that fail to participate in a section meet after submitting entry forms are subject to a monetary fine.

10.Use of GPS tracking/timing devices by participants is not allowed.

Section Qualifying Meets:

Section qualifying meets must be held Nov 5th 7th , 2020

The girls and boys divisions in each class of a section meet will qualify:

(a) The top four teams

(b) The top six individuals not on the section rosters of the four qualifying

o GPS tracking/timing devices by participants are not allowed.

o Per NFHS rules, coaches and athletes may not pace or run with participants during the race.

o Per NFHS rules, the use of electronic devices for any review of an official's decision is not permitted
