FRIDAY NOVEMBER 1, 2019 SCHEDULE: PLEASE DO NOT GET ON THE COURSE UNTIL 9:00 a.m. so PALMER PARK and JAMES CLEMENS HS can prepare course for the Meet.

10:30 a.m. Section 4 Class 4AGirls 5K & Section 6 Class 6AGirls 5K combined Race 42 degrees Sunny

11:00 a.m. Section 3 Class 1A-2ABoys 5K & Section 4 Class 7A Boys 5K combined Race 44 degrees Sunny

11:30 a.m. Section 4 Class 4ABoys 5K & Section 6 Class 6ABoys 5K combined Race 45 degrees Sunny

12:15 p.m. AWARDS (ALL CLASSIFICATIONS) in order of the races 50 degrees Sunny

DUE TO THE WEATHER SCHEDULED 30-32 DEGREES WIND CHILL 29 FOR 8:00 a.m.-9:00a.m. we will combine races. According to AHSAA rules #6> Running combined races in section meets is permitted at the discretion of the section meet director. AHSAA; Xpress timing; & the Meet Director coach Drew Bell want the SECTION Races to be safe and fair to all schools, therefore the Races have been combined. This also allows the SUN to dry the course for 2 more hours and to allow Palmer Park and James Clemens to prepare the course. The races will be scored seperatly by each classification. The qualifying teams and awards will be separated and stay as follows:



The SECTION MEET will be moved from Thursday October 31, 2019 to Friday November 1, 2019 due to 80-100% chance of rain and THUNDERSTORMS on Thursday. Friday is scheduled for complete Sunshine. NOTICE TIME CHANGES TO SCHEDULE:

ENTRY DEADLINE:

MONDAY, OCTOBER 28 MIDNIGHT

Special Rules- From AHSAA Fall Sports Book-

1. A team must participate in a section qualifying meet in order to be eligible for the state meet.

2. Submit entries via the Alabama Runners website (www.alabamarunners.com) one week before the section meet.

3. A school competing in a section meet may enter a maximum of 10 runners in each division in which it enters.

4. A school competing in the state meet may enter a maximum of 10 runners in each division in which it qualifies.

5. Individuals and teams may qualify for the state meet at a section meet.

6. Running combined races in section meets is permitted at the discretion of the section meet director.

7. Schools may substitute team members between the section and state meets.

8. The assignment of teams in the starting boxes at the state meet will be based on section winners, runners-up, and third place finishers.

9. Schools that fail to participate in a section meet after submitting entry forms are subject to a monetary fine.

10.Use of GPS tracking/timing devices by participants is not allowed.

Section Qualifying Meets:

Section qualifying meets must be held Oct 31 - Nov 2, 2019

The girls and boys divisions in each class of a section meet will qualify:

(a) The top four teams

(b) The top six individuals not on the section rosters of the four qualifying

GPS tracking/timing devices by participants are not allowed.

Per NFHS rules, coaches and athletes may not pace or run with participants during the race.

Per NFHS rules, the use of electronic devices for any review of an official's decision is not permitted

WHERE: Palmer Park, Madison, Alabama 35756
Route from I 565 E: Take the County Line Road EXIT. Turn left at traffic light. Follow County Line Rd (1.5 miles) to Palmer Rd. Turn right on Palmer Rd and go .6 miles to entrance. Turn right into Palmer Park.
Route from I 565 W: Take the County Line Road EXIT. Turn left at traffic light. Follow County Line Rd (1.5 miles) to Palmer Rd. Turn right on Palmer Rd and go .6 miles to entrance. Turn right into Palmer Park.
ENTRIES: The entry fee is $15 per athlete with a maximum of $75 per school per race i.e. a school who has a Varsity Girls team and a Varsity Boys team would pay $150. Check payable to James Clemens H.S.
DIVISIONS: Section 4 Class 7AGirls and Boys Section 6 Class 6AGirls and Boys Section 4 Class 4AGirls and Boys Section 4 Class 1A-2A Girls and Boys

SPIKES: Recommended. Grass and dirt with a few pavement / gravel crossings.

              
AWARDS: All Individual state qualifiers will receive a medal.

4TH PLACE TEAM MEMBERS RECEIVE> MEMBERS OF WINNING TEAM (10) 4th PLACE MEDAL
TOP 15 RUNNERS IN EACH RACE WILL RECEIVE AN ALL SECTION TEAM T SHIRT
CONCESSIONS: FULL CONCESSION WILL BE AVAILABLE.
TSHIRTS: WIDE VARIETY OF T-SHIRTS AND SWEAT SHIRTS WILL BE ON SALE.
STATE MEET QUALIFIERS: The top 4 teams and the first 6 individuals not on those teams.
