Meet Information
We invite you to participate in the inaugural McFarland Dash by the River. This race will be on the course of the Section 3 Class 3A and Class 4A XC Meet for 2014.
This run is in a beautiful setting in McFarland Park beside the Tennessee River. The picturesque park has plenty of shade and a good view of historic ONeal Bridge and the bluffs just across the river. The race course winds through a golf course with short grass and some trails.
$60 per varsity team ($120.00 for boys and girls)
$12 per individual
$50 per jr. high team ($100.00 for boys and girls)
$10 per individual

2:30- Packet Pickup and Course Walk-through
3:45- Opening Memorial Ceremony
4:00- Junior High Girls 2 mile
4:30- Junior High Boys 2 mile
5:00- Varsity Girls 5K (Results will be split into divisions)
5:30- Varsity Boys 5K (Results will be split into divisions)
6:00- Awards
1A-3A: Small school division (284 students or less in grades 10-12)
4A-7A: Large school division (285 students or more in grades 10-12)
Schools that participate must be members of their state's high school athletic association. We are a member of the AHSAA. According to our association guidelines out-of-state private schools will multiply their enrollment in grades 10-12 by 1.35 to determine division.
The top 15 individuals in each race division will receive a t-shirt.
The top 3 finishers in each race division will receive a medal.
The top 3 teams in junior high girls and the top 3 teams in junior high boys will receive a trophy.
For the varsity races the top 3 teams in each division in girls and boys will receive a trophy.
Concessions and t-shirts will be available for sale.
