Opelika High School Mike Spain Invitational Track and Field Meet

Facility: 6 Lane track. Full concession will be sold. Admission will be $5.00 at the gate.

Entry Fee: Entry: $5.00 per individual on a team. $5.00 per relay team. All entries must be submitted on alabamarunners.com.

Entries
There is no entry limit, however, only the top three individuals on a team in each event may score. Additionally, each school may only score one relay. A varsity athlete may enter up to 3 events including relays.

Entry Deadline: Tuesday, March 27th, 2012.

Entry guidelines: All entries should be made on-line Alabama Runners.Com This site will guide you through the process. Entry fees should be mailed or brought to the meet prior to the start of the meet.

Verification of Entry: A printout of your entries will serve as your verification of entry in to the meet.

Awards: Top Scoring (1st place & 2nd place) team will receive a trophy.
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 in each running; field and relay event in the Varsity division and ribbons will be awarded to the top 2 in the Junior High division.

The winners can pick up medals immediately after the final results have been announced/posted.

Equipment: Starting Blocks will be provided. All field implements (except pole vault poles) will become property of the field for the duration of the meet.

Scratches: All runners must check in 30 minutes before their race/event or be scratched.

Sanctioning: The AHSAA and Georgia will sanction the meet.

Scoring
Individual: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

Field Events: Each jumper/thrower will have 3 attempts (finals only format.) In the throws and horizontal jumps, the first mark will be measured, and then subsequent throws/jumps must meet the standards below.

Rules: We will use the National Federation rulebook for any rule disputes.

Appeals: Any appeal must be given to the referee in writing accompanied with $25.00 within 30 minutes of the infraction. If the appeal is upheld, then money will be refunded. Appealable offenses are misapplications of NFHSA rules. Judgment calls cannot be appealed.

**All races are finals. Winners determined by time.
**Athletes are limited to competing in four events.
**We will run heats of 16 in the 800, 24 in the 1600 & a maximum of 2 heats in each of the boys/girls 3200. We will try to run only one heat in the 4 x 800 (B & C teams may start 2 yards behind starting line to alleviate over-crowding).

Coaches: PLEASE be honest with your entry times. Heats will be seeded according to times entered.

Starting heights and minimum measurements-- All first attempts will be measured, and then only attempts meeting the minimum standards. The top 9 competitors will go to finals.
